Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU night shift position in Chicago, requiring an active IL license and prior travel experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a hospital
- Night shifts are 12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM), with orientation on day shift for initial training
- Schedule includes every other weekend rotation (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
- 36 hours per week are expected
- Uses Epic electronic medical record system
- Must care for critically ill pediatric patients in an intensive setting
- Not open to local candidates within a 50-mile radius
- Travelers are expected to work two out of the three major holidays during assignment, including time surrounding the holidays
- Return employees must have been gone for at least one year, and returning travelers for at least 45 days
- No block scheduling is allowed for this assignment
- Maximum of 10 days requested time off, which must be made up by extending the contract
- Completion of a Cannabis Acknowledgment Form is required prior to starting
- Not a suitable position for first-time travelers or new grads
Requirements
- Active permanent IL RN license required at the time of application
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Minimum of 3 years recent PICU or CICU experience required
- Previous travel RN experience required
- Certifications required: CPR and PALS
- COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required
- Two references required, with at least one from within the past year
