Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position with a rotating schedule and a current IL RN license requirement.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
• Patient population consists of critical pediatric cases with high acuity
• 36 hours per week with 12-hour rotating shifts between days and nights
• Every other weekend rotation including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Uses the Epic EMR system, with prior Epic experience preferred
• Floating to other units not mentioned
• Must be able to work at least two of the three major holidays, including surrounding days
• A maximum of 10 days RTO (requested time off) is allowed; RTO must be made up by extending contract duration
• No local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered for this PICU position
• Return employees must have at least a one-year gap since prior employment; return travelers must have at least a 45-day gap
• Completion of a Cannabis Acknowledgment Form is required
• No block scheduling is permitted

Requirements

• Active permanent Illinois RN license required at time of consideration
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Current CPR and PALS certifications required
• Minimum of 3 years of recent PICU or CICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required
• Two references required, one must be from within the last year
